ED Culture Review

  • Post ED culture review is a useful way to ensure empiric antibiotic treatment is appropriate and the patient does not decompensate at home.

  • The ED pharmacy team can be a great resource for timely and accurate medication history collection for patients needing community placement or admission.

Ketamine for Analgesia

  • Sub-dissociative ketamine is a useful way to treat neuropathic pain and spare opioid use

  • Can be used via intermittent or continuous infusion

TNK for Stroke Proposal

  • Still using alteplase? 

  • TNK is 15x more specific for fibrin, has 6x the half-life, and is cheaper

  • We can help with protocol/orderset development and administration kits

ED Infusion Dosing Handbook

  • For sites with limited EMR built in drug information an "ED Code Drug Book" can be useful.

Push Dose Pressor Proposal

  • Used for years by anesthesia, push dose pressors are a useful tool to have for peri-intubation or drug induced hypotension
